« Diru al mi kaj mi forgesos. Instruu al mi kaj mi memoros. Kunlaborigu min kaj mi lernos» « Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn. »
» « Wedlock is the natural state of man. A bachelor is not a complete human being. He is like the odd half of a pair of scissors, which has not yet found its fellow, and, therefore, is not even half so useful as they might be together. »
— Memoirs of Benjamin Franklin, Written by Himself 1839 Volume 2 of 2
» « (angle) Human felicity is produc'd not so much by great pieces of good fortune that seldom happen, as by little advantages that occur every day. »
— Benjamin Franklin

— Advice to a Young Tradesman 1748
» « I think the best way of doing good to the poor, is not making them easy in poverty, but leading or driving them out of it. »
— On the Price of Corn and Management of the Poor 1766
Citaĵo
« Neniam estis bona milito aŭ malbona paco» « There never was a good war or a bad »
» « Our new Constitution is now established, and has an appearance that promises permanency; but in this world nothing can be said to be certain, except death and taxes. »
» « Your observations on what you have lately read concerning insects is very just and solid. Superficial minds are apt to despise those who make that part of the creation their study as mere triflers; but certainly the world has been much obliged to them.(Memoirs of Benjamin Franklin, Written by Himself 1839 Volume 2 of 2) »
